VPD - Vicksburg Profit Department?

There has been quite a bit of discussion regarding the VPD's crackdown on speeders and seat belt law violators. Put in your two cents if you like.

At right is a photo of one of the VPD's enforcers - illegally parked and blocking a portion of Crawford Street, motor idling (you're paying for it), awaiting his next victim. Is that Mayor Leyens grinning from that upper floor window of City Hall?

try sitting in on traffic court some friday at 9:00am... judge waltrine langford... last friday there had been 200 citations issued... "two hundred"... only about 10% of the people showed up, which now means the other 90% have bench warrants out for them...
for your information...the first thing she says is, "NO TALKING in here"... that'll get you 10 days for contempt of court...
and who do we have to thank for this...
appointed by Laurence Leyens...
where is the accounting for all of that money going to??? something to ponder when "YOU GO TO VOTE"

If you wear your seat belt you won't get a ticket.

The complaint used to be we didn't have enough officers to enforce the laws, now the complaint is they have to much time on their hands.

We have an excellent Police force here in Vicksburg, be thankful.

I think we have a good police force despite the lack of leadership. I also think the wearing or not of a seat belt is a personal choice, and nobody, especially the government, should force us one way or the other. It's an example of another loss of our personal freedoms; the losses grow every day. Obama will see to that. Wake up, people, before we are all slaves.

4-9-2009 @ 7:41pm From your comment I wonder if you are the man who works at the old court house who drives the truck that doesn't have a license plate. Is not having a license plate part of government taking over your personal freedom? Does that truck have insurance?
